Appartamento del Lauro.

Restored in 2011, this delightful home features terra cotta floors, beamed ceilings, and spacious, bright spaces rarely found in the historic center.

The piano terra consists of entry foyer, living/dining area featuring two windows with breathtaking views of Mount Cetona, fireplace, large American-style kitchen, large bedroom with built-in closets and two windows overlooking a courtyard, and a renovated bathroom. Upstairs, there is a large sleeping/office area, another renovated bathroom with soaking tub-shower, attic storage and mechanical closet.

The water softener and boiler were replaced in 2024.

Cetona dates back to the 10th century. It features the charm of narrow winding streets and stairways with stunning views, as well as the grandeur of beautiful Piazza Garibaldi, an expansive 18th century space, lined with shops, bars and restaurants.

Just a five-minute walk from the apartment, there are two bar/cafes, four restaurants, two bakeries, an enoteca, food shops, a father-son ceramics gallery, an artist studio, a tiny hardware store, clothing and gift stores, hairdressers, banks, pharmacy, and small supermarket.

On your walks in and around the town, you will find magical treasures and idyllic vistas. Some of Italy’s most famous wine regions are just up the road.

Two nearby towns, San Casciano Dei Bagni and Chianciano, are famed for their thermal springs and spas. (Both are within 25 minutes.) Famous destinations like Orvieto and Montepulciano are 40 minutes away by car. Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Perugia are all within one hour. Umbria is just across the valley, with Lago Trasimeno 30 minutes away. The Via Francigena is just over the mountain in nearby Val D’orcia.

Florence and Rome are 1.5 - 2 hours by car, and Chiusi/Chianciano train station is an easy 12 minute drive from Cetona.
